Late
Neolithic/Early Bronze Age Wedge Tomb, Púicín
an Chairn, in the townland of Dún Meánach. This
monument overlooks Minard Bay on the south side of the peninsula
and commands an extensive view south. It was modified in the
past for use as an animal shelter. RMP KE 054-045 |

This
barrow, in the townland of Márthain, is situated on
the south side of Mám Clasach, the road between Dún
Chaoin and Árd a' Bhóthair, just to the Ventry
side of the pass. It commands extensive views and may have
been a burial monument used in the Bronze or Iron Age. RMP

This
standing stone, in the townland of Baile an Draighin, probably
dates from the Early Bronze Age. Interestingly, an Ogham inscripition,
IRCCITOS, has been carved along the north edge of its east
face. This may date from the 5th or 6th century AD. RMP KE

Situated
on a west-facing slope, with an extensive view over the Lispole
valley and as far west as the Blaskets, there are 3 stones
in this alignment in Arda Mór, with an outlier (not
in picture) 60m to the north-east. The alignment is orientated
on the setting sun at the Winter Solstice. The outlier bears
a series of rock art motifs on its north-west face. These
monuments probably date from the Early Bronze Age. RMP KE

This
tall standing stone, which probably dates from the Early Bronze
Age, is 3.9m high. It is in Baile an Tearmainn and overlooks
the Anascaul valley and across to the lake, Loch a' Scáil.
There is an Ogham inscription on the east-north-east angle,
0.4m from the base, VOENACUNAS M... This may date from the
5th or 6th century AD. There is also a simple Latin cross
carved on the south-east face. RMP KE 045-062 |

This
stone, in Áth an Charbaill, is situated overlooking
the valley of the Glounshavanowen river. The entire face of
the stone is covered with rock art, consisting of cup marks
and cup-and-circles, and may date from the earlier Bronze
