Early medieval monument
Early medieval monument in Lugnagappul, near Lios Póil. It consists of a low cairn with 4 low standing stones along the perimiter; two of these stones bear Ogham inscriptions, 'GOSSUCTTIAS' and 'GAMICUNAS'. KE 054-033
Ogham stone
Ogham stone at Baile an Rannaig near Baile an Fheirtéaraigh. The inscription on the stone reads 'CUNAMAQQI CORBBI MAQQ(I MUCCOI DOVVINIA)S'. It is interesting to note the inclusion of the name of the goddess Dovinia (i.e. Duibhne), after whom the tribe of the Corco Dhuibhne take their name. The peninsula's name in Irish comes from the name of that tribe. KE 042-05703
