The museum
is situated in the village of Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
(Ballyferriter), across the road from the Catholic Church. It
is in the heart of the western part of the Dingle Peninsula,
an area rich in archaeological monuments, and also well known
for its beautiful scenery. It is an ideal place for those who
enjoy walking, and there are many wonderful beaches too. For
those who prefer to be away from bustling towns, a village like
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh is an ideal choice, with plenty
of accommodation available, but with spectacular countryside
all around you. See our local
links page to learn more about places to stay and things
to do in the area.
Should you
have any queries about anything to do with the museum, or need
information about any aspects of the archaeology of the area
(or indeed, anything else that she might be able to help with),
please contact the curator, Isabel Bennett, who will do her
best to help you. Isabel is an archaeologist by primary training,
and worked on the Archaeological Survey
of the Dingle Peninsula, so is familiar with many aspects
of the archaeology of the area.
